In celebration of the two-year anniversary of the Scala series meet our little new one: the two-person Scala Bench Small. As a practical addition to the home, it nonetheless delivers finesse to fans of the Scala series.

Numerous costumers were keen to see a new version that would seat two. When used in a hallway, it's the perfect perch for tying shoelaces, whether you're tall or small. In the bathroom it becomes a great functional yet decorative storage place. And it helps you seat more friends and family at the dining table.

We often find that our customers' input gives impetus to further developments. They crave variations on this theme, which is simple and accessible. The Scala series incorporate tables, benches, stools and bar stools. What our customers wanted was a bench suited to smaller areas in the home, whether hallway, bathroom or kitchen. And now they have it!

A hint of the spa feel

Scala Bench Small is a perfect repository for your clothes before stepping into the shower. All you need is an assortment of fine soaps and oils and a thick bath towel to set the authentic spa scene!

The bench has a light steel frame which provides strength and can function as a shoe rack or a practical shelf for towels if you are in need of storage in the bathroom.

The Scala series - beautiful carpentry details

Many Danish furniture classics have been designed for specific or unique interiors. The Scala Bench Small is part of a series of furniture we have designed for Aarhus Theater's recently renovated Scala foyer.

Meticulous attention to detail has resulted in several attractive features: a slight upward curve of the corners and a narrow slit in the seam to hold an optional cushion in place. Another indication of the product's artisanal nature is the tenon-and-mortar appearance of the four legs on the surface of the bench.

 The bench comes in soap treated oak, oiled oak, smoked oak, and black painted oak. You can add one or two seat cushions in either high quality leather from Sorensen Leather or woolen textiles from Kvadrat in a variety of colors.
